I am not ashamed to admit that for my wedding and California reception, I took the easy way. What I didn't hire out, I used the DSE (delegate to someone else) approach. In so doing my job as the bride was made very easy, and I am extremely grateful for all of the help.
Examples include but are not limited to:
a) the gold calligraphy name cards made with a very stinky marker. Thanks, Mom! (and I think Jen helped too). I'm afraid they may have lost a couple brain cells.
b) the gold bell wedding favors. Tags and bows NOT made by myself. Thanks, Stacey.

Now with my Edmonton reception just three days away, I find myself in DIY madness. Let me tell you a secret. I am creative, but not crafty. My ideas don't usually turn into artistic masterpieces. Our wonderful, unpaid wedding coordinator told me to sit down in front of a movie and make 70 paper roses.

After the
Back to the Future trilogy and slightly more than 1 audiobook, I finished up these beauties.
We are also providing a candy bar, for guests to select red and gold treats as they leave. Yesterday, I realized we had no candy bags.

In a little more than an hour, I DIYed myself 99 of these. (I would have had 100, but misspellings happen.)
Tomorrow, I'm making tissue paper pompoms. I am looking forward to Friday.
